Start Circle of Friends, or SCOF, is an independent charity providing a volunteer driver scheme exclusively for patients registered at Chillington Health Centre. We drive patients who are otherwise unable to make their own way to medical appointments at the Health Centre, and to other health-related appointments, including to the dentist, optician, physio and hospital. Our volunteer drivers use their own cars and carry ID. There is no formal charge for using the service, but we offer users the opportunity to make a donation at the end of their drive. These donations enable us to maintain the service and help to reimburse drivers for their mileage. Our telephone line is open for bookings from Monday to Friday (not Bank Holidays) between 10 am and 12 noon, with an answerphone for out-of-hours calls, which are dealt with on the next working day.
