Free Trees for All – this Saturday in Chillington

Please come and join us on Saturday morning 19th February from 10.30 at Chillington village hall for a coffee morning, book sale and a free tree giveaway!

The Chillington Community Association will be offering refreshments and a range of books for sale in the hall. Outside, the Parish Council, in conjunction with Devon Wildlife Trust’s Saving Devon’s Treescapes project, will be handing out — completely free — locally-grown native tree saplings, complete with stakes and guards, for villagers to plant in their own gardens, or anywhere else where they have the landowner’s permission. If you would like a sapling or two and cannot collect on the day then please email gailaddison@hotmail.co.uk, who will deliver locally for free.

At the hall there will also be a demonstration of hedge-laying along the boundary hedge to Tanpits Lane — interested volunteers will be invited to lend a hand and learn about this ancient craft from an expert instructor.

We look forward to seeing you all there!
